Royal Prestige

Well Amanda and I are now the proud owners of a new knife set, along with a free two-night hotel accommodation, and a four day cruise. I never thought I would ever want to buy something from one of these kind of promotions; but, it happened. And hell, we needed a knife set.

Monday Amanda got a call from an 800 number telling explaining that her and her fiance have been “selected” for free hotel accomodations. I was in the middle of doing some homework, so I wasn’t too sure what was going on. I had asked her if she knew how they got her phone number, she didn’t say. Ther person over the phone said it was a contest, but Amanda’s only entered a wedding photography contest; however, she has registered at a few sites – and that’s what did it.  I was going to call back to get the whole 411, but decided not to. I figured we may as well go, it’s going to happen to us a lot, why not check it off things we have done now.

So that is how I spent my Tuesday night. We went to Brookfield and ate at Claim Jumper. I have never been in and out of a restaurant so quickly. Our food we brought out within ten minutes of sitting their waiting. What we thought would be an hour or longer dinner turned out to be 30 minutes. So we ordered dessert. Rasberry White Chocolate Cheese Pie is awesome.

It came time for the little meeting to start, did the sign in. The guy had Super Size my playing, and I caught a glimpse of “Fat Flush” some kind of cookbook. We also had no idea that this meeting was about cookware. Instantly I wanted to bolt out the door if this was some “Loss fat and cook with us!” routine; it wasn’t though. The guy was pretty straight forward, told us if we were just here for the hotel stuff, wait until the end and run out. I also give the guy credit on the whole fat thing. He barely touched on it, instead he talked about how it affect kids, pretty smart angle.

In the end of it all, I was the one who wanted us to get the knife set. Go figure. Amanda had talked about needing one, she also brought up wedding gifts. I knew one thing we’d need is pots and pans, kitchen stuff. I’d have felt pretty stupid if we bought the pots; knife set made more sense. 50 year warranty, good knifes, sounds good to me. Plus now any purchase from the company is 30% off. Oh yeah, that’s one thing if we bought it there, of course, got 30% off.

At least we can finally say we got stooped into buying something.
