The ideas of American politics and lifestyles has always reflected thoughts of freedom and prosperity, our many declarations and speeches have further pushed these images on other cultures. Unfortunately these ideas fall under close scrutiny. Immigration fueled by these ideas led to poverty and exploitation, and even racial oppression.
Immigrants came to the United States leaving everything behind, coming here poor, increasing poverty. Businesses took advantage of these needing people, they could pay them very little and work them hard, because these immigrants were living off of the “American Dream,” and needing to survive.
